The Arms

The Arms is a Rock/Power Pop band from Buffalo, NY consisting of Salvatore Sciandra (guitar/vocals), Rick Vallone (synth/guitars/vocals), Justin Donhauser (drums/vocals)and Eric Kenyon (bass/vocals). Influences include Weezer, The Rentals, The Cars, The Magnetic Fields, Tegan and Sara, That Dog, The Strokes, Jimmy Eat World, Cheap Trick, The Beatles, and the Police, among others. The band was formed when longtime friends Salvatore and Rick began writing and demoing songs in Rick's apartment on Sunday afternoons. Initially the songs relied heavily on drum machines, synthesizers and the use of overdubs. It wasn't until later that the duo decided to recruit the services of Justin, whom Rick had previously played with in a few local metal bands, and Eric, a friend of Salvatore. With this new full-band line-up the Arms were ready to start playing shows in and around Buffalo. They currently have a two-song demo titled "The Bill Murray Demo," which is available for free at their shows. .
