The Vanguard

42 King St, Newtown , New South Wales

About

Sakr is an electronic music producer and audiovisual artist exploring the space where sound, image and technology blur. Combining modular synthesis, electronic instruments and reactive visuals, he creates immersive worlds in which music, movement, light and image continuously shape one another. His first mixtape, Ma/t[e]/rial.’s, introduced this approach, exploring the tension between the organic and synthetic, structure and chaos.

The project has since evolved through performances at Wavetable in Scotland, Mapping Festival in Geneva and headline shows across the UK and Europe, alongside screenings and exhibitions in London, Tokyo and Montreal. Sakr also founded Con/c[e]p.’t AV, a live series connecting artists across electronic music, visual art and audiovisual performance, which debuted at London’s LOST.

At the heart of his practice is instinct before explanation: music that leaves room for uncertainty, even as it becomes more immediate, physical and expansive, retaining the unpredictability and rawness that continue to define his evolving work.
